the client
CarGurus was founded in 2006 by Langley Steinert, former co-founder of TripAdvisor. The company started off as an automotive community blog where consumers could post reviews and questions about local dealers, shops, and types of cars. Dealers expressed interest in advertising on the site, and the company changed its business strategy to connect dealers and consumers by putting inventory on the site. From 2009 to 2011, the company’s visitor traffic increased from 9 million per month to 21 million per month. CarGurus was privately owned until their $150 million IPO on 12 October, 2017 Having completed the initial CarGurus fit out in Dublin in 2015 with just 7-staffers on board, and with a fantastic working relationship developed with the local Team since, we were delighted to be appointed again to fit out their new EMEA HQ on Dublin’s Hatch St.
the brief
The D&B project involved taking the Clients initial occupancy and work strategy brief, development of that into a look & feel concept for comment and sign off followed by full scheme design and pricing. Works involved strip out of existing finishes, modification and recommissioning of M&E and IT services, de-cellularisation of space for increased break out and collaboration working with a complete Corporate branding requirement to all front of house and staff areas. The works were set against an aggressive programme driven by a pre-defined State & IDA attended launch date, which we’re delighted to say that we achieved thanks to a fantastic Team effort from the site Team and the local & international CarGurus leadership Team.
